In support to the Philippine National Red Cross‟ goal to make an international statement that the Philippines is a humanitarian country, officers of the PCGA 125th Squadron (Capt Junmar Roa PCGA, Lcdr Arnel Alvaran, PCGA, Ltsg Noemi Alvaran & Ltsg Sheryl Roa PCGA) joined the Million Volunteer Fun run last December 4,2011 at the Molino Boulevard, Bacoor, Cavite.
The Million Volunteer Run was also conducted in celebration of the United Nations‟ Declaration of 2011 as the “International Year of Volunteers”.
All runners will be given training on disaster preparedness and response, and other life saving skills to equip them should an unexpected disaster strikes the country. It also attests to the spirit of heroic volunteerism among every citizen not only during times of disasters and emergency situation but at anytime extra manpower is needed by our country.
In Metro Manila, the Run began at Roxas Blvd. corner Quirino Ave.; In Makati, the starting point was in Buendia corner Pasong Tamo; and in Paranaque, the Run began at the Coastal Mall. All runners converged at the SM Mall of Asia.
